TWO BUCK TUESDAY

Eating out in NY can be expensive. I mean like crazy expensive. I mean like dropping 500 dollars per person on a tasting plate expensive (I’m looking at you KO). And though here at FLY we all love the finer things that this city has to offer, sometimes we just want to get well fed for what few meager bills might be left in our wallet from last night.

To that end – TWO BUCK TUESDAY. Every week we’ll highlight two of our favorite places to get well fed and hopefully spend lest then 10 bucks. It’s only Tuesday after all – you want to keep some of that paycheck for the weekend, when you can do some real damage.

NEW XE LUA VIETNAMESE

Our inaugural two buck Tuesday recommendation might also be one of our favorites. New Xe Lue Vietnamese takes its place along the other Vietnamese restaurants along Baxter Street – and to be honest some of the other spots are worth looking to as well. However, when we are hungry for some salivation inducing Bahn Cuon (rice noodles on a bed of sliced pork)… well then we come here.

GOA TACO

This ain’t your mama’s taco. Or your papa’s. And some would question whether the flaky parathas (rather than taco shells) used to deliver the delicious ingredients to your mouth can even be called tacos at all… I’m sorry I forgot what the question was. Just thinking of these things can make one dumb. Stop arguing about what it is, or what to call it and drop a little change on a mouth altering experience.
