Though they hail from our neighbors to the north, don’t hold that against them. Bobby and Laura Shapiro have long run two of the most lauded seafood and shellfish restaurants in Canada and have now brought their mussels, seafood and shellfish concept, Flex Mussels, to the island of Manhattan.

Two locations, one on the upper east side one in the west village – both serving some of the best and freshest shellfish you can find.

Although you won’t be disappointed with the classic mussels and side order of Flex fries, the menu has a ton of variety to explore. Not only are there mussels prepared in 23 different sauces but  there are also oysters, lobster rolls, fish tacos and a whole lot more.

As for that beer you were pining for they have you covered as well with rotating taps and quite a few from your homeland.

If you want to finish up your Belgian reverie with a little American dessert then get yourself the whoopee pie (and then get back to work;).
