I'm looking for an upscale place that doesn’t feel too stuffy and with amazing food to boot. Where should I go?

 Robert,

There is a small handful of restaurants in New York City that fit that description, but if I had to pick just one it would be Upland in the Flatiron District.

There Chef Justin Similie (formerly of Il Buco Alimentari) brings you some of the best (in my opinon THE best) Califorina cuisine one can have outside of California.

The restaurant is gorgeous but not stuffy. The staff is friendly and relaxed... but not in TGIFridays sort of way.

As for the food think fresh farm to table vegetables and meats prepared in loving, surprising and eye-pleasing ways. Think a wine list that ranges from steady old friends that you’ve had many times before to brand new and wild acquaintances that you have never heard of (but might just fall in love with).

There are pizzas for comfort food,  whole branzinos for those looking for something healthier and a giant gorgeous 87 dollar rib-eye for two, for those who just want to indulge.

I’d start listing off the desserts, but honestly I just kind of need to get out the door and go there right now.

Maybe, I’ll see you there.

Enjoy!
